New business models in fashion:
four major fashion business players talk to Paris Modes

For the first time, the fashion industry is facing substantial change, much of which calls into question the fashion establishment status quo. From the development of fast fashion to new forms of e-commerce, digital technology has recast notions of time, revolutionized product access and created a host of new expectations that can favor industry newcomers.

Susan Saideman, VP of Amazon Fashion, Europe, on the challenges of e-commerce.

We are customer obsessed, we always think about the customer and try to innovate on behalf of the customer. We are always innovating, always doing new things. I think fashion is a vehicle to help people express themselves and feel confident. Amazon can help with that because we have such a large selection: people should be able to find the fashion that they want to help express themselves. They also can make it super easy by having it delivered to their home, to their office or to their locker, so they can get it without having to go to a store. ●●●

We love to tell stories, we know that customers don’t just come to buy on Amazon, they also come to explore. So we try to tell stories for brands.

“The key word for the coming years is commitment”

Xavier Romatet, CEO of Condé Nast France on the new challenges of the press.

“New media enables us to bring a genuine message to a very large audience”

Geoffroy de la Bourdonnais, CEO of CHLOÉ, on the future of shows.

“As a designer and a businessman, I have to wear two hats”

Alexandre Mattiusi, founder of AMI on the new role of the designer.
